Looking for beta testers for Rose Seed Replica!

2020-07-01 12:00

Looking for beta testers for Rose Seed Replica! If you'd like to give me a hand and help make the game a happy lesbian utopia, then continue reading!

What kind of game is it?

A feel-good lesbian love story about two women unexpectedly cast to the other end of the galaxy.

Check out the game page for details and a promo video.

What does testing involve?

You'll be playing the game and posting on my Discord server about each problem you find.

What are the requirements?

  • Basic knowledge about and positive attitudes toward LGBT+ matters
  • Healthy interest in lesbian romance
  • Basic computer skills
  • Having at least 5-10 hours of spare time to waste
  • Steam or Itch.io client on Windows or Linux
  • Discord account and knowing what your Discord user ID is

You don't necessarily need tons of technical skills or any prior experience about beta testing games. I'll gladly help you get started and do my best to help with any issues that arise during the testing process. Like, if you know how to install and play games on your PC and use Discord to post GIFs of cats, it should be fine.

How do I become a beta tester?

Send me a direct message me on Twitter or send an e-mail to support at lezliz.com with the subject like "I'd like to beta test Rose Seed Replica". Introduce yourself in the message and such, and we'll continue from there.

Unless there's be a huge influx of beta testers, I should be able to reply in a day or two. Most likely there won't be such an influx, so you should have decent chances of being accepted to the beta if you contact me.

When will beta testing start?

In the beginning of July.

What kind of bugs should I look for?

Basically anything from simple typos and confusing dialogue to quests or the whole game glitching. Generic feedback about the quality of events, requests for extra dialogue to clarify things or such are most welcome too. Anything that helps make the game better really.

How do I report bugs

If it's a simple typo or grammar error:

  • Just post a screenshot on the beta tester Discord channel.

If it's something else, also:

  • Describe in reasonable detail what happened and what you did before it.
  • Save the game just before the bug occurred, or just after it if saving before is not possible.
  • Prepare to post the save file to the Discord channel if needed.

Will testing the game be fun?

Probably not. Testing is pretty frustrating in general, the game will have tons of rough edges and bugs, bugs reports by other testers will be filled with spoilers, and so on.

Will I get paid?

Probably not. Like, I wish I could pay, but I'm just too broke at the moment. But I'll give the beta testers a free copy of the game at the very least.

Can I get a job reference if I do this?

Absolutely! If you do good just testing and reporting bugs, I'd gladly write a positive job reference for you! It's the least I could do.
